Q. How are payments made?

A. Payments can be made weekly (Instructor Bootcamp class) or monthly (Esthetics). There are no credit checks and no interest. We accept payments by Zelle, Cash or Check.

Q. Do you offer financial aid?

A. We do not offer the FASFA Pell Grant at HICANC, but we do offer a monthly payment plan that does not require a credit check, no additional fees or interest.

Q. Do you offer scholarships?

A. You will find several scholarship or grant award links found on our "About" page.

Q: Can I practice lash extensions without a license

A. Not in the state of North Carolina.  "An individual must hold either an esthetician license or cosmetology license and be practicing in a licensed cosmetic art shop "

Q. After I complete these classes, will I be licensed?

A.  No, our classes are designed to prepare you for state board examinations for you to obtain licensure.  Our instructors will guide you through every step of learning, preparing, practicing and packing for state board examination.  Student licensing information can be found at www.nccosmeticarts.com

Q. Will I be expected to work on live clients?

A. Yes.  Part of your required curriculum will be the practice of procedures on live-clients.  These hands-on opportunities prepare you for a successful future.

Q. How long is esthetician school in North Carolina?

A. 600 hours is the minimum amount of hours you must complete.

Q. How much can an esthetician make?

A. The cosmetic art industry is one of the largest in the world, therefore you can make as little or as much as you are willing to invest yourself.

Q.  Can you work out of your home as an esthetician?

Q. What is the difference between an aesthetician and an esthetician?

A. Both occupational titles are licensed skin care specialists. 

Q. What can I do with an instructor's license?

A. Career opportunities for instructors range to include working in a cosmetology school, for a distributor, being a vendor educator or delivering continuing education content.

Q. Can anyone apply to the esthetics or instructor challenging classes?

A. While we encourage anyone with a passion for the cosmetic arts to apply to these programs, some requirements are needed for the different types of classes offered here at the Huntersville Institute of Cosmetic Arts.  These requirements are listed under each class description. We do not discriminate on the basis of sex, religion, ethnic origin, age or financial situation.

Q. What language are the classes taught in?

A. All courses are taught in English.  There are a few language options for applying to the North Carolina State Board of Cosmetic Arts written exam. These options are currently in English, Vietnamese, Korean and Spanish.

Q. Do I have to be a high school graduate?

A. No. It is not required to have a high school diploma or GED to attend theses classes.  HICANC accepts students who are also enrolled in a high-school, home-school or GED setting.  No transcript is required. 

Q. How old do you have to be to attend classes?

A.  HICANC accepts students who are aged 16 and over.

Q. How far away are you from Charlotte, NC?

A. Huntersville is located on the Northern outskirt of Charlotte, about 30 minutes away from the uptown area.  Students attend from the Charlotte, Denver, Dallas, China Grove, Midland, Harrisburg, Statesville, Mooresville, Indian Trail, Lexington, Troutman, Salisbury, Mount Pleasant, and surrounding areas. 

Q. Can I tour the facility before applying for the esthetician classes the school offers?

A. Absolutely! We encourage students to tour multiple esthetic schools to make sure their choice is the right fit for them.

Q. Where are you located?

A. Our campus is located near Birkdale Village, LaUnica Mexican Restaurant, Outback Restaurant, Carrabba's Restaurant, Meg Art Pottery, Bob Evan's Restaurant, Hwy 77 Exit 25, Hwy 73 intersection.  15806 Brookway Drive Suite 600 behind Michael Girouard Weight loss and Wellness center. 

Uniforms:  Each student will be required to wear clean scrub type uniforms with a black, seafoam green, aqua, or white colored top and black pants or a school logoed shirt.  Comfortable closed toed shoes and student name tag (name tag will be provided).  A coat/jacket/sweater maybe worn when in a non-lab area.  A matching, school logoed or black lab jacket maybe worn in a lab setting.  Matching or black undershirts maybe worn under scrub or school logoed tops. 


Performing services on a live model will be required by esthetic students.
